yay. still alive! that may disappoint some people but unfortunately I have met the challenges uni and other commitments threw at me and came out no worse for wear. it's been awhile. at the cajoling by qingxu on this other scourge of the internet known quaintly as facebook, i have returned. having no internet in my room, i waste time rewatching old videos and reading for classes instead of pouring angst on to an online outlet. have had the privilege to attend interest lectures (controversial u might say) by the likes of the Hungarian PM, Professors Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer on the Israel lobby, former Greek PM, former 'C' i.e. the Head of SIS (aka MI6) Sir Richard Dearlove, former US ambassador to UN John Bolton... Bolton. certainly right-wing. articulate and probably really smart. good speaker. has some very logical views on N. Korea and Iran, but still. he's brash, can be rather abrasive, and rather cocksure and self-righteous in a way. But at least he's not hawkish on Iran. phew. Dearlove. the lecture was simply conspiracy theory central. from Mossad agents cheering 9/11 to 7/7 bombings being masterminded by MI6 agents. and interestingly enough, he is the first person I've seen readily admitting to his involvement with the Bildeberg Group. doesn't shed any light on the high cabal, but yea. Walt and Mearsheimer certainly did not make friends with some right-wing Israelis in their audience, although for the most part their views on how the US should regard Israel in their foreign policy was well-received. The Hungarian PM was a funny man. perhaps even self-deprecating with his humour. If only our politicians had some of that. I have been in school every single day since I got back to London. shit. that can't be good. school work, the beaver and loose tv are a deadly combination. bad for your health. please don't try this at home. |
